79 cutty
So just to be clear then, would I do that and then have to reload all the original discs that came with the computer? I know I have them, so not really an issue, but good to get clarity for us that are computer stupid! LMAO. I just need to find some broke ass college kid around here that would wipe it for a case of beer! Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. 79 cutty
Wow, not sure why that last post turned out so small, but yes, I can definitely follow on screen prompts. So I would run that to clear the hard drive and then reload everything, and it is a done deal? Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated. I will still grab the info off the computer when I get home, but this is a good starting point. Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Guest
I think for dban you pop the CD in, make the computer boot from that CD, hit two or three keys after it starts, then wait a few hours. done.
Guest
hardest part honestly would be figuring out which key your pc uses to let you choose which drive to boot from (CD drive for dban)
Bump4life
might have to change boot order in BIOS. which isnt that hard. or you could format your drive in windows so it deletes operating system then it would automatically boot from cd once it doesnt detect an OS on harddrive Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. Skullz
Since we are on the subject of deleting info off of hard drives. What about SSD drives? Do they need the same type of program or does reformatting wipe the drive clean? 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
