1852legend
Can anyone give me a push in the right direction? I'm torn between these three. This is powering one Alpine type X 12 (1000 rms) in a downfiring ported box in my boat. Concerns Overheating on extremely hot days Damp environment (Amp mounted in safe place but it is a boat. Fresh water only) Amp efficiency (Boat alternators are low amperage) RF M1200-1D 800w @ 2 Ohm $232.00 Pro: Marine grade Good reputation Con: Least watts JL JX1000/1D 1000w @ 2 Ohm $278.00 Pro: Tried and true Con: Expensive Hifonics BRZ1700-1D 1200w @ 2 Ohm Pro: Most watts $199.00 Cheap Con: Questionable reliability
hazestorm23
Don't make it a vs thread but there is a reason why they make marine amps the rf would be your best choice in reliability and quality don't even bother with hifonics.
