Do I need a H.O alternator?

Well I bought a Soundqubed HDC3.1 12" dual 2 ohm and a Hifonics BRX1600.1D, right now I have it wired to 4 ohms taking 600 rms as a break in for a couple weeks but I noticed slight dimming that wasn't noticeable on most songs but certain songs dim headlights and interior lights to where they are noticeable, The vehicle the system is in is a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon that had an engine swap before I bought it, the engine in It now I believe is no different since its a 2.0L 4 cyl out of a 2006 Hyundai Elantra and the stock alt I believe is only 90 amps. My plan was to do the big 3 and then add a Kinetic HC1400 in the back to help the drain but now that its dimming I'm thinking I will be looking Into a HO Alternator. Is it possible to make a bracket for 2 stock alternators and run them together? Sorry if thats a stupid question but I priced another factory 90 amp alt and they run anywhere from $100-150 and thats a big difference compared to the $300 price tag for a HO

I would replace the stock battery with an agm that fit and do the big 3 and see where I was at before spending the money on an HO alt. Once you have done those and checked your dimming problem I would add a back battery and check again. The only real issue is the batteries are not going to get charged you would be relying on reserve from the batteries, however you can charge those batteries when needed. It really depends on what your price range is as well. It wouldnt hurt to contact several alt companies and at least get quotes on what an alt would cost and if they offered something in your price range to begin with.

Also wanted to ask, I was looking to see how hard the big 3 on my car would be and it says there should be bat. Pos. to alternator, I see that, it also makes out that there should be 2 grounds if I'm correct, 1 from bat. Neg. to the chassis, and 1 from that ground to the engine block correct? My battery only has 1 tiny ground to the chassis, should I add an extra wire to the chassis ground from bat. Neg. and then 1 from that ground to the engine block somewhere or just run an extra to the chassis?

I was thinking a kinetic HC2400 and the big 3 but Idk if that will handle the 1300-1600 rms load of the amp, I hear Hifonics amps do rated but are power hungry

A stock alternator and a good battery should do the trick ..I would go with a secondary battery since you are having dimming issues. Have you upgraded the Primary (FRONT) battery ?

I still need to upgrade the front but I'm trying to decide wether I should use a Kinetic HC1800 or HC2400 and maybe a Kinetic HC600 or a little bigger in the back (sorry it logged me in as my girlfriend, don't know why, but this is still aaron)

Just looked now and doesn't look like the HC2400,2000,OR the 1800 will fit, the 1400 will fit but I'm wondering if thats too small?

XS does not show a battery for that application. Basically I would do a AGM battery in the stock location whatever you can fit and do a D3400 in the trunk
