Fast1one
is there anything bad if the port area is a little LARGER than the woofers SD? Lets say 5-10 square inches?
Forevrbumpn
Not a whole lot. Really, I have noticed line area, whether larger or smaller than SD can have an effect on sound, whether its peaky, or smooth sounding. Just gotta find out what works best for you. And also, the high qts sounds a lil better with a larger than SD area, and a lower qts sound a lil better at, or lower than SD... thats in what I have tested, with a few select subs I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. Forevrbumpn
Thats pretty sweet man! Take some final pics of that thing. kinda hard imagining it installed. How long is the line? seems pretty short for 26hz, but it looks pretty decieving, size wize I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. TDEaton1021
It's 130 inches in length (the line) the box is 51.75 inches long. it will go inbetween the front seats and go into the back with the part that raises running flush with the rear bench seat, acting as a rear middle armrest. the sub is downfired, correct. and the port terminates with a curve, just something that i thought would give it a little extra "coolness" lol. the length will still be about the same as the air follows the box still, even without the sides. when installed (which i think will be today) i will mount "feet" on it to let it sit a few inches above the ground for sub clearance. i'll let him have fun with it for a while then i'll take it out and finish up the vinyl and stuff. he has a 1000w hifonics amp but its running at 2 ohm so it should see about 500w... i hope i am impressed
