FLA813DOVER Posted February 17, 2014 Report Share Posted February 17, 2014 as the title says...... im trying to make a battery charger with this big ass transformer i have and its 120V input and 16v output.......could i do this or would it screw the battery up? and no wouldnt be using just the transformer alone. ive seen a few write ups on how to build a charger just dont know what parts ill need yet. wanted to see if i could use this first 88 ranger xlt ext cab HU. jvc bluetooth/usb deck mids/highs. 2 earthquake 5s. 2 earthquake 6s and 2 Cadence CVLT-60 tweets subs. 2 Addictive audio V4 12s SAZ3000D SAX100.2 alt. 135 amp ford mustang batt. deka G31 1131MF box. 4 cubes 30-34hz rims. black 13x7 100 spokes with chrome knock offs. tires. 155/80r13.milestar touring se real billet grille not a bolt on. HYDROS FINISHED!!!!! 2 pumps 4 batts I get fucked by this old guy at work all the time. MY ASS WILL FOREVER REPRODUCE THE LOWEST AUDIBLE SUB BASS FREQUENCIES KNOWN TO MAN! just because we think it ugly and it sounds like a bucket of smashed assholes. Hanes. And dried jizz. Why would you want to charge it with 16v for? edit: unless there is something I'm not understanding.. SnowDrifter Posted February 17, 2014 Report Share Posted February 17, 2014 You'll want to charge it at a constant amperage to between 14.2 and 14.4v. After that, hold the voltage constant and monitor the amperage. The amperage will reach an asymptote of 0, and it is at that point you stop charging. Is it 16.8v dc or ac? Not trying to step on your toes here, but what is it you are trying to accomplish?
