ParDeus Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 Ok, say you have 2 dvc subs. Can you wire 1 in series, 1 in parallel, and parallel those connections at the amp? Say 2 dvc 2ohm. 1 @1ohm, the other @4ohm, paralleled to the amp= Turkey? Or 2.5? I don't want to do this, I've just never seen it addressed.
ParDeus Posted February 23, 2014 Author Report Posted February 23, 2014 I know that, lol. I'm speaking strictly theoretically.
kirill007 Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 You can but it's not a good idea because they will get a different amount of power. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
ParDeus Posted February 23, 2014 Author Report Posted February 23, 2014 Thanks. I wasn't thinking it would be a good idea, but I have never heard of it and just wanted to see why it could/couldn't be done. It was a random thought while having my morning BM. Metamucil + Adderal= Wiring to 2.5 FTW.
kirill007 Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 If you like to figure out how to do it yourself, look up series and parallell wiring of resistors. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

33hz Posted February 23, 2014 Report Posted February 23, 2014 This is not a dumb question. You can infact wire them up this way for a 0.8ohm load but you better be sure your amp can handle it. Basshead not audiophile

I've got a feeling I'm overlooking something obvious, though. Thanks
ParDeus Posted February 23, 2014 Author Report Posted February 23, 2014 Also, is it true each sub would see different power?
