So, I recently got back into car audio since my kids are a bit older....not as much need for the trunk space anymore...I'm sure some of you know about the car seats, booster seats, strollers, diaper bags, etc. My last car stereo was about 10 years ago or so and I wanted to do this one the right way so my car wasn't always half put together. I have been purchasing slowly making sure the equipment I bought was what I wanted and complete before starting the install. So I'll give you a list of the equipment I chose and would like a bit of input on what everyone thinks.....

Car- 2008 Chevy Impala

H/U - Pioneer avh 4600BT

Access GMOs lan-01 (retains OnStar/door chimes)

Sub amp- Team RF x7a (1500@2ohm underrated)

Woofers- Can't decide! Either 2 15" HCCA(old school w/ tc9 motor) or 2 12" power hx2 OPINIONS PLEASE!!!

Wire- 1/0 knukoncepts kolossus flex amp kit

Not completely done yet..still need to pick up some comps for the front and an amp to power them but I figured I could live with the stock speakers for a little bit.

why are you so narrowed down with your sub stage choices? Times have changed and there are a lot of nice sub brands. Can you give a budget and goals? You looking to run sealed/ported, how much space do you have?

well I have never heard hx2s but I know that the tc9 motors are well capable of the power you would be giving them and sound very nice. I would go with those.

Ok.....Hx2's it is then...cleansierra my dimensions are 37" wide x 17" tall x 40" deep...the impala trunk is massive..which is why I went with the 15s to begin with....I guess I'll try to sell/trade them and put the funds towards the hx2s...as far as condition they are mint...I texted pics to cleansierra...he can post them again if he would like. I use a tablet w/ no can so pictures are tough. You think those hx2s will get loud in this large of a trunk application?

the hx2 from my understanding like a bit of a bigger box. so 2 of them in roughly a 4.5-5.5cuft net tuned around 33hz will get low and loud with out a problem imo.

cleansierra will make sure the box is great. he always makes great boxes.
