taramps

im in the market for an amp that makes 7-8k @.5 or 2 taramps has an amp that claims 8k @ 2 but idk how reliable it would be or if it even make those numbers. ive been trying to find clamp tests but no luck so far

actually claims a little over 9k @ 2.

I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. Tonight should be good haha.

Their more popular on caco. Id ask there. I know one or two people running taramps and they do rated plus some. Not sure exactly which amps or if the one your talking about though.

ya i just got done reading on caco about them. after seeing the guts of the hd8000 u wouldnt think it could even make that kinda power but i guess they work different then korean amps. but wasnt there something like this the reason being why fi made there leads all dumb big are there big subs. wondering if i would run into issues like that running a taramps hd8000 on my destroyers

Yea idk about that as well.. making like 8k off like 1 input just never seemed right to me...

And the group buy the warranty on each amp was from the manu. Date so by the time you got it, itd have like 8mo of warranty time.. seemed odd. .

Or you could purchase like insurance for it like a cell phone. So if it breaks you pay a small fee to get a new amp regardless of what hhappened to it. Instead of paying full price for an amp..

Any way, I know a guy "clamping" 9k outta his 8k amp and he said hes very happy with it.

Clamping vs amp dyno...

Most "clamped" numbers are about double what their rms amp dyno number is. So that's 4500 and factor in that its prob distorted as fuck and clipping and suddenly your in the normal realm of single input amps.

Idk about double... I mean it may very well be in some cases, but I seriously doubt that "double" is common..

Id put that number at about 20% imo.

I understand technology has improved to fix the errors in our old ways, but its not like we going from cave drawings to 3d printers or something..

Clamping is STILL the more prevolent method for better or worse. And to say its half just off the top of ur head is a stab in the dark. Just like this setup vs that setup which would be louder..

Ur right. But HALF is a tad aggressive imo.

Ppl have always said that about brazilian amps. Sd, stetsom, I think tars are brz...

Ive seen em in a couple bass racers here amd there at a couple shows. But mostly in burp cars. I honestly have never dabbled in em, but im pretty sure they are at least semi daily doable.
