m720bos Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Is there any reason why i shouldnt run 2 p3 12" subs and 2 T1 12" subs in my truck? It might be a stupid question but I have always seen people run all of the same subs in 4 sub setups and I was wondering if there is any reason why i shouldnt use 2 different kinds of subs
m720bos Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 really?.. nobody has any input on this situation
bcbrassard Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 You can do it, are the the same ohm, what kind of power? how will they be wired?
youngbass98 Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 They would probably sound different from each other 06 monte carlo 2 12 rockford p3s soundstream rubicon 2500 crescendo audio mezzo 6.5 ct sounds 125.4 execution audio and shca wiring 2 xs d3400 on stock alt
alaskanzx5 Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 As long as the p3 and t1 subs are in apostate Chambers from each other it would be fine. Can't have 2 different subs in the same chamber though. Different subs will behave differently. for instance the t1 would move more, the p3, less. In the same box the amount of air the t1 moves compared to the p3 could make the p3 be pushed over it's max excursion and.possible tear the surround or bottom out. Can't say it would happen but would be one if the many of the possible situations. can't forget that different subs like different amounts of net volume and port area. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
m720bos Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 it would essentially be two seperate boxes as one with 1 amp for the p3's and 2 power series amps one for each t1. Im thinking of having the p3's sealed and the T1 ported
alaskanzx5 Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 That's was going to be my next suggestion. Tube the t1 box around 33-35 hz for lied and the sealed box will play the higher freq great asking with lows t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
jarrius Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 I want to know how you are going to fit 4 12s in a trunk with proper boxes. Second IMO I would not do it. They will sound different add cancelation and just meh but that's just me 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
m720bos Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 they would be going in an SUV not a trunk and the sealed box would not need as much volume anyway, but i do appreciate your opinion thats why i asked in the first place
m720bos Posted March 4, 2014 Author Report Posted March 4, 2014 Ok a friend of mine said that to do this would be pointless. He said the T1's would just cancel out the p3's and it wouldnt make a differencethan just having the 2 T1's. I cant help but to disagree with this and my reasoning is that when i was just toying around with subs at one point i put 5 12" subs in my truck that happened to be 3 completely different kinds of subs and they had my roof jumping like a bull was in there and neighbors pissed! so I dont understand how it would cancel out? more subs, more air being moved, more vibration, more bass right? I just dont understand
