MACnonsence6 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 depending on how long of a run i have my temp rf t2000bd using 4g ofc that is 24" power and ground from the battery. and its been fine. i baby it though because i dont have the electrical to handle it full tilt just gotta keep an eye on voltage I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. This thing sounds amazing. 130 watts, 12" woofer with a passive 12" woofer tuned to 27 hz. Moving the pictures on the walls and my girl got wet from the bass when i showed her haha. P4killer_ Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 If its good wire and the run is short enough itd be ok. Id want it to be less than say 12 inches tho to pull a full 200+ amps through it. MACnonsence6 Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 with out a 2nd battery? i would not do this reason being full tilt that amp has the capability to draw upwards of 200amps. can your 4g wire handle that kinda load? perhaps but for how long? have u ever seen wire burn do to drawing to much power. its pretty scary now imagine that whole run of 4g under ur carpet doing that. kinda hard to put out when its ran all through out the car. i would get a 2nd battery and 1/0 i would hold off till then I picked up an MTX Sw1212 powered subwoofer today. Popwarhomie Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 Keeps the gains down until you get the 1/0. Hopefully the 4 gauge is fused correctly just incase you try to pull to many amps though that 4 gauge it will pop the fuse and not burn your car down. 2010 Focus coupe- 8 12" wall. 157.5@46hz 2016 Focus ST - SQ build.
Jbarrera93 Posted March 5, 2014 Author Report Posted March 5, 2014 200 amp fuse? or 250 amp fuse? 2001 Chevy Blazer LS Kenwood KDC-HD552U 2 12" SDC 2.5 D4 Fi SP4 18" 4 Sundown SA-12's HiFonics BE 1200.1 Soundstream RUB1.2500D Looking for a 5k XS Power D3100 4 Soundqubed 6.5's (Pro Audio) 2 Soundqubed 3-Way 6.5's 2 Soundqubed Super Tweeters
Quiet Posted March 5, 2014 Report Posted March 5, 2014 I'd say it's worth it at this point to drop a little cash for some 1/0. I doubt you'd end up melting 4 gauge (unless your termination is shitty) but if you go ahead and do it (we know you will) at least watch your voltage at the amp... or your amp is gonna have a bad day. 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.
