Andrew
Where can I get pictures of Steve's civic's rear deck before it was stolen...? I heard he had the 6.5" components back there and was utelizing a blow through... I just wanted to get some pictures and ideas of how he did it, I'm wanting to give it a shot. Thanks, Andrew Quote New project in the works

ChevyBoy
wasnt really a blow through. he had the port under the tank and the box was completely sealed off at the point. i dont even think the front of the box reached the 6.5's
Guest MegaloManiac
What do you want know? all it is is a couple of wooden baffles out of mdf. and fiberglass. a hole cutout for the port and covered the hole with grill cloth. the fiber glass has been sanded and has Rage extreme(or bondo) applied and sanded. then primed and finished. walla. ChevyBoy
but the port is under the tank. or are u just explaining what he would need to do? These are Rockford Fosgate "Power" 18" subs in a 10cube before displacement box. Its now ported towards the front with a 95sq inch slot port under the tank. The front of the box is also completely isolated from the rear and there is no rattle whatsoever.......
Andrew
I'm looking to use my stock 6x9 holes as my way for the air to get straight into the cabin, so I'm doing 6.5"s in the rear deck somehow or another. Guest MegaloManiac
that port hole is for if he latches the seat up, so that there is constant air flow for the port to escape through
meade916
that port hole is for if he latches the seat up, so that there is constant air flow for the port to escape through when the seat was up it was intended for all that energy to get into the car thru the hole in the rear deck lid. It is a blow thru. I cut the stock deck completely out all the way to the window and replaced it with what you see. First make a board that fits perfect where the old deck was......then cut a hole out. Use that hole and cut a hole in the hole leaving a 1 1/2" or so "frame". That "frame" drops right back into the original hole because thats where it came from. So you take the "frame" and stretch grill cloth over that super tight and staple on the back side. Drop it flush back where it belongs and your done. (with that part) then add your pods, do what you do.....now you have a blow thru. The port and the energy from the subs comes thru the hole really nicely. to me, old 6x9 holes used for that purpose arent very effective. The more deck you cut the more energy gets into the car. If you built a bandpass box (using tubes) and ported thru those holes it would work but to me the benefit would be minimal doing a standard ported box that way. Its better than nothing though so if your scared to cut then go for it Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
