revoracing247 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 can you hear music at all with the knob in? if everything else checks out, the amp might have kicked the bucked :/ it should be working with the knob out ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Yeah you can hear music with it in or out just very faint. The amp shouldn't be bad its never been damaged, overpowered, crossed or anything. The amp is almost brand new still? Could it go bad just sitting in my room?
revoracing247 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 no probably not from just sitting in your room lol but maybe the knob shorting out could have done something. but if it plays some with the knob in them maybe not? it's hard to tell. i wouldn't put the knob in anymore. sounds super sketch and i wouldn't wanna accidentally blow your amp or sub. double check rca's and all the settings on your amp and deck with the knob out. ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
Ahmed Johnson Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Check your rca's. How old are they and are they a good quality pair?
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Okay I will mess with it some more tomorow. I will just keep the bass knob out of it. Thanks
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 And yeah the rca's are also RF and are in decent shape. I already tried a different pair and same
Aj11 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 i would unhook everything! start from square one. rerun without the knob and go from there. and do you have a rear battery? if not why are you going all the way back to the battery for a ground? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
bumpn94 Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 I went all the way to the front because there was already a ground wire coming from the battery because of a dual amp set up so it was there and I figured it was a a gaurenteed ground.

Aj11 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 the problem with running all the way back to the battery Is you (most of the time) get a worse voltage drop. the discharge of power takes that much longer! would you rather drink from a 6inch straw or a 3 foot straw? same thing here. I'm not saying it's the problem but it will help. all my grounds are under 3feet. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
