Inspiron100 Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 my friend gave me an old amp because he got a new one. http://www.drdetailshop.com/250.htm it says: 250 watts RMS bridged into 4 ohm but, i was wondering if there is a way to find: ? watts RMS bridged into 2 ohm I'm wondering because with he box i made, I wired the subs to 2 ohms. Its safe to assume that because there will be less resistance the wattage will increase but I'm curious as to how much that 2 ohms will matter. thanks guys

boom50cal Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Amp isn't rated at 2 ohms bridged because it isn't stable at 2 ohms bridged. By wiring it to 2 ohms bridge you do the following: You void the warranty of the amp, put the amp in a situation where it is working too hard to supply power, creating extra heat within the amplifier, creating an additional source for the possibility of an electrical based fire, putting you/your car/your passengers at risk.
