I won't give you advice on a subswoofer since i don't know what your music preferences are and what you expect out of a subwoofer.

But a HO alternator for 200 dollar is too good to be true, it won't perform what it says it will do and break down quickly with no power at idle.

thanks for the info but you made that statement without knowing anything about the alternator. but thats i will keep that in mind

True, you haven't told us which one it is.

But a brand new alternator that puts out 240A with a decent output at idle and will last you for atleast 10 years can't cost 200$.

Not even if it was mass-produced in China and you bought 200 of them to get a bulkdiscount,

I'm with him^^^ 200 bucks for a 240 amp alt sounds too cheap to be real. My Mechman 240 amp was 350 shipped and I thought that was cheap but it's Mechman so gave me the piece of mind. I've heard HDc3's are decent subs and can get decently low. AS far as them being musical it's really up to your tastes in music like Kirill007 said it's hard to recommend a sub unless we know what you expect out of one. I can tell you though they will last a long time and take a beating and get super loud so if that's what you're looking for I say get it.

According to most people every sub is musical even when the manufacturer specifically says they aren't made for that.

What does musical even mean? It's not a real term to describe anything,

In my opinion, it's something that has good response, like being able to keep up with every note, and also mechanically clean(aka not "boomy").

The hdc3 is a very good sounding speaker, it plays anything I throw at it, and it's mechanically clean, not 100% but still very good. Now would I say it's a pure sound quality sub, absolutely not, but it's a very good daily sub for the price. Gets loud too lol

To OP, you don't want to cheap out on the alt, sure that alt alt may do 240 but it's most likely a high turn on alt, so it's all top end and shit idle.

Musical to me would be sounding good on all types of music. Not boomy and has a great range. IMO there great for daily. I play a lot of rock metal country when I'm not at shows and the quility of sound that comes from the hdc3 is great to me.
