JP-12 Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Ok right now I have a alpine MRX-M240 and I don't really have in my budget to buy an upgraded battery and alternator and I was wanting some suggestions on an amp that I could use with no problem without having to upgrade my battery and alternator. I have. 2013 focus SE and 2 kicker compR 12s
mnrookie Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Just wire it to 4 ohms then. No need for a new amp.
mnrookie Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 If it's still to much, turn the gain down.
jarrius Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Dual 4 is just fine you can wire them at 1ohm. How much is your budget on a amp? Look in to soundqubed and RF Prime series. Should not have to upgrade with only max of 1200wrms 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
JP-12 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 If it's still to much, turn the gain down. The gain is at 1/8th power.... Idk. 200 or so
gr8handogoatness Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 Just keep your amp and wire to 4 ohms. Once you save up for electrical then upgrade the electrical and let the amp do its thing. You say 1/8 power so that makes me think gains are set improperly, so wire to 4 ohms and also save for a dd-1.
Rich Schenk Posted March 21, 2014 Report Posted March 21, 2014 you need to at least set your gains with a multimeter if you dont have a dd-1. less chance of blowing something On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway..... JP-12 Posted March 21, 2014 Author Report Posted March 21, 2014 I don't know anything about wiring but I'm trying to learn, how do I wire them to 4 ohms? Right now they are at 2 I think? The wire just goes straight from the sub woofers to the terminals no crossing or anything.
