kapone Posted March 22, 2014 Report Posted March 22, 2014 Just the 3 yellow tops in the back, one run of 1/0 run to the back and batteries in series with three frame grounds. Also have 1/O from the alt to the distribution block under the hood that might be part of your problem right there....

It does it when I'm at an idle, it helps to rev the engine, but it still drops voltage. I'll get the alt tested too just to be safe. The alt is putting out 13.70 with the system off and truck running, I feel like a dumb ass that I didn't realize that was why the batteries were reading that, cause the truck was running. Haha but thanks guys, I'll update when I test everything tomorrow What make of alt do you have? Just cause it is a 300a alt doesnt mean you get 300a. And now you say it does it at idle, for all you know the alt could do 100a at idle which cant power a bullshit system, but at 2000rpm it could make the 300. WHAT ALT DO YOU HAVE (MAKE, MODEL, ETC)??????????? I've heard people talk about it but not sure what it is Big 3 (important cables in your charging system) 1. Alt charging wire to Front battery 2. Battery ground to frame 3. Battery ground to engine block ground (or grounding strap) It should be done in 1/0 OFC wire.
