Krakin's Home Dipole Project

http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

No way... I need milk...

If you can tell me what it really is I'll share some cookies with you

After looking at the picture it seems there are clips on the lid... so much work to go all the way outside to look again.

Got the driver door deadened and attempted to get started running my speaker wire to my doors but realized my truck has a super gay molex plug and there is no way in hell my wire is going to fit. I'm gonna have to drill and grommet :( WHY DODGE! Y U NO MAKE EASY! I also had to remove my E-Brake assy just to get to the damn thing. Anyways more pics.

  • 4 weeks later...

So an update finally! Nowhere near anything special yet.. my truck is a mess!

But after months with no bass I decided to throw in my dc175.4 and hook it up to my old kicker cvr 10's.

This amp on a single channel @ 2 ohms plays louder than my alpine mrp-m650 did???

This should hold me over till I get my subs and amp.

Also need to fix my rattle on the windshield visor because if these 10's are rattling it this bad i can't imagine what 18's will do.

LOL

I hate the dashes in our trucks sooo bad. Also having to use super tick spacers on the stock locations for upgraded front stage mids/highs. Installing pwx 6.5s were a bitch, the window kept catching the magnet, I think I had to have almost 3/4 thick rings to clear. Also I didnt bother with the molex, I used the stock wire that went through the door and into the dash and soldered off of that and ran it back to the amps. Only works if youre running one speaker per door though.

Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. New build should be coming soon in a dodge cummins smile.gif

Yeah it sucks. I currently have type R 6.5's in the doors and they have a pretty small magnet but I did have to space them out a bit. I think I'm going to just use factory wiring for the doors and add a set of components to the center console. I may try tweets in the dash where the 3.5's are supposed to go.
