exc500 Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 I'm currently running a sq 3500.1. Have a chance to get a warhorse at a really good price. I know getting it is only half the story with these amps they take a lot of electrical juice to back them up. My current set up runs at one ohm and this amp says its not stable at that load. I can re wire my subs to a two ohm load. I'm really not trying to make this a vs post I'm just asking seeing as I allready have a sq 3500.1 and I can get a second for the same price as this kicker what would be the wiser choice. And please I'm not asking which is the better amp just what would make more sense. I am trying to respect the no vs' s post. I'd just like some input on what some of you guys who have possibly had experiance with both recommend the direction I take. Thanks.
crispy_chick3n Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 if you are serious about getting a warhorse, you should proably look heavily into how they are wired up. its not as simple as your everyday amp. there are a few people on here who have run, and are currently running warhorses. dig around in the member builds section, should be able to find some good info over there. rsfm089 Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 Never heard of a warhorse amp so went reading and came by some really funny stuff. That amp can blow up two 500 watt jensens subs right out of the box and set the hole car on fire and it also can blow up a Honda lol. But from what I read u need some serious electrical and know what u r doing. That thing is the real deal.

exc500 Posted March 23, 2014 Author Report Posted March 23, 2014 I really wouldn't plan on using my current subs. And yes I'm definitely going to have to revamp my whole ride to use this amp. All I was stating was what I have now. But if it takes a different level of sub than I've been using then of course I'd changr. Its a 10, 000rms amp I know it would require a lot of changes. I was just asking cause I have a oppertunity to buy one at a really good price nib. But after looking into what all it would require to use it I'll probably just get another sq3500. I'm not competing its more just for me. I've been into car audio since I was 15 I'm 43 now and I just like a good system in my truck. I don't really care if mine is the baddest or the worst as long as it works for me. Its just for the enjoyment it gives me. Thanks for your input.
