Space too small?

Hello everyone, first post and of course it's going to be a question seeking input...

I've got a 2001 Tundra w/ Access Cab and looking to add a sub to the mix. I've decided on the Sundown Audio SD-2 8" for it's size, mid-shallowness and capabilities. I don't have space under or behind the back seat. I thought maybe the small space between the center console and back seat MIGHT work. What are your thoughts?

The sub would be facing up (or I'd like it at an angle facing the front if possible). Height is going to be the variable in the equation. I've only got 9" deep (between console and seat) to play with and 9" wide as well. I might be able to go 10" wide depending on how tall. The box would need to be sealed per SA's recommended .25 ft cu.

SD-2 8" Specs...

Sealed .25 ft cu recommended

Displacement: .07 ft cu

Depth: 4.75"

Outside Diameter: 8 3/8"

Cut-Out: 7 3/8"

Thank you in advance for the input!

Down firing would probably be the most optimal in your vehicle to be honest.

Hadn't given that option a thought. I was hoping the box wouldn't have to be above 9" as that's the height of the back seat and center console, that way it could be somewhat even and not horrid looking. Likely would have to add half an inch to accommodate excursion. The area between console and seat is my number 1 choice, and if down firing is better (makes sense now that I think about it)... gotta do what you gotta do.

So let's see options with it firing down. Thanks n8ball
