dharris2488
Also could have smoked due to voltage drop. What is the electrical like in your car. Who knows it could be part of the cause You bring up a good point... I had an amp smoke due to voltage drop as well. I figured the amp would go into protect or something, but no, it smoked my amp and also took the sub with it. He need's to set his gains properly and monitor the voltage on full tilt. If he's in the 10's, then he definitely needs at least a second battery at minimum. 2013 Toyota Camry SE 240a MechMan HO Alternator 1/0 Welding Flex Cable Big 3 CT Sounds 4000.1D Kenwood XR400-4 Mid/High Amp SoundQubed Q4-120 Mid Amp Infinity Kappa 6.5 components Kappa 6x9's for rear deck fill (coming out) (4) 8" PRV 8MB450's Set of SoundQubed SuperTweets (2) DSS Ethos 12's D2's @32.5hz (building 4th order enclosure) (2) SQ HDC3 10's @ 33.5hz (current build, loving them) Pioneer AVH-X4600BT 100 sq/ft Stinger RoadKill Sound Deadner 120 sq/ft QMat Sound Deadener (4) Juice Box Black Cherries Lots and Lots of feet of SHCA wire, along with 50' of Welding 1/0 2 Runs of 1/0 Positive front to back ToolMaker Everywhere
TRON
Don't set gains with a multimeter. Its not accurate, you need a real tool. Aj11
were just confusing this kid, if you have no experience then find some one who can help. yea a oscope is way better then a dmm and a dd1 is easier to use then a oscope. its just hard when you Dont know what your looking/listening for. if you do it by ear. my advice Is if you think it sounds fine and everything is ok, back off the gain a lil bit more. better safe then sorry jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)

Aj11
i know man i see/hear it all the time! some kid will be like i got a system check it out. within seconds i hear distortion. or a blown speaker. guys like us just have a ear for it. i Can usually tell by volume ten if there gain is to high. and by Max i can damn near tell what there crossovers are set at. its like us trying to make a Dress, we have no idea where to start, what to do what not to do. but others can tell by the thread we picked that it won't work. i just think If he doesn't know what to listen for its better to use a dmm. i know its not that good. but then again you don't want me to put a new mother board in your computer just by listening to it. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
