fatboi Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 I am running a brx1600.1. I had 4 guage already installed and everything was cool. Then fuse melted and so chose to replace with 0 guage. Wired straight back into a distribution through 150 amp anl and into 4 guage to amp. The amp would not put anything out. Sent back and got new one today and same thing. Grabbed multimeter and everything is cool EXCEPT I'm running 18.5 into the amp. Tested distribution at 0 guage contact and same thing 18.5 volts. Is this why I am not getting output and how can I limit the voltage? I thought my alternator did that for me
fatboi Posted March 29, 2014 Author Report Posted March 29, 2014 ok I had it on ac not dc. but on dc im getting a straight 14.4 on battery and 8.7-8.9 at distribution. I have the knukonceptz flex wire so and its kinda loose on the insid. So maybe that's it. ive hooked up a lot of amp wire and this is the first for me. im going to try and hookd the 4 gauge up and see if its a constant voltage all the way through

jarrius Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 Not true about crimping. A lot of people crimp and do not have issues at all. The owner of the black nasty crimps all his connections and I know there is many more that also do. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole

A proper crimp will last forever. Not in the mood to beat that horse right now I am greatly concerned by these 1. Loose wire 2. fatboi Posted March 29, 2014 Author Report Posted March 29, 2014 Got it!!! While testing I inspected the wire. On the ground wire in the middle was a foggy section. Cut it open and there was a good portion burnt up and a lot of "dust". I replace it and im back to being loud! Thanks guys!
