BigZ Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 Hey guys ive been stalking the forums for a while and finally began budgeting for a build and decided it wouldnt hurt to create an account and try to get some help a little background on my build ideas as of now: (2) SoundQubed HDS315s running off of 1 Soundqubed Q1-2200D in a ported enclosure totaling 9.692 ft^3 using 3/4" MDF (37w X 20h X 27d) anyway, with all that being said I'd love to hear your guys' input on ports. Ive tried using several different programs and applications to the best of my knowledge and have managed to come up with a few possible options, assuming my math is correct, which it probably isnt and i apologize for that. (1) 12" aeroport at a length of just over 20" for a tuning frequency of 33hz (3) 6" aeroports all at the same length of just over 17" for tuning frequency of 33hz or 7" wide slot port with first length of 19.25" and a 90 degree bend of 5" also for a tuning frequency of 33hz those are my options, my question is which of those, or any other that you guys may have for me would have the best output, its all relative but from those with experience, which would be ideal for a "loud" musical setup playing primarily rap and decaf music sorry for the rambling and thanks for any assistance -Z This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine.
BigZ Posted April 2, 2014 Author Report Posted April 2, 2014 Slottedis my vote. thats what i was leaning toward too, i just really like the way aeroports look and their perfomance in a handful of systems ive seen, slot would have the most port area, correct? This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine.
Triticum Agricolam Posted April 2, 2014 Report Posted April 2, 2014 A slot port can have as much or as little port area as you want. Properly done both will sound exactly the same. Each have their own advantages and disadvantages other then how they sound.
