Help... Amp lights dimming not producing bass

I have a tq1600 planet audio amp(trash) had it for about 3-4 years.. Yesterday it just started giving me issues.. If I play the HU about 10%-20% it's fine but I watched my amp and as soon as the bass drop the illuminated logo and the power light dims heavily and no bass. Nothing has changed with my setup and it has been running fine.. After a while do amps simply start to die? Any input

Have you thought about metering your voltage? Maybe your battery is poopin out on you.

I am almost sure it is your battery level. My battery will start to die and the light on my amp will flicker to the bass and cause severe distortion. Recommend charging battery or getting a new one. My system is in my room but set up same a s a car would be

Thx guys I will get my battery checked out.. I did notice that the CD player doesn't save where I left off on a track it restarts the cd back to track 1 after the car sits for a day.. Didn't pay any attention to it but I will see what charging the batt does.

If the problem was your battery an you fix it then I'd also get a capacitor...depending on your amp size but it will help save your battery.

dont bother wasting money on a cap when the battery is probably going bad if it cant even give enough power to save the settings on your headunit (assuming headunit wiring is correct)

edit: OP, go to oreilly's or something and have your battery checked. if its like 4 years old its getting time to replace it.

The amp is old but not sure about the battery but it prolly should be replaced also if it's the same stock battery. The car is a 2010 I had for a year. Depending on what they say about the battery I will just get a kinetik battery for under the hood.. I figured since everyone tells me my amp is garbage that's it's no way it should harm my electrical system.. But the 1st step is getting the battery tested today. Thx guys ....
