You only need one fuse inline to the rear batt from the front. When you make your run to the amp, fuse that wire.

What I was told it to fuse as close to both front and back as possible. If the front fuse blows, you're still going to have a hot wire going from the rear bat to the front fuse.

thats what i heard also about using 2 fuses, not saying its right just the reason i had that line of thinking

If you have front batt>fuse-----rear batt, and the fuse pops, you do not have a hot line anymore. It's dead from both sides. From the rear batt to the AMP you'd fuse again, yes.
