Exactly. You don't need the rear. The best sounding systems don't have rear fill. The systems that do have rear fill need to only have it for fill. Spend money on the front and leave the rear stock. It will sound better and have far superior staging. I'm guessing you've never heard a truly good sounding system.

No, it has already been configured by Rockford to achieve the best balance between the two speakers that it can.

If you want adjustable crossovers you need to go active, or you need to design and build your own passive crossovers.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

When you go to an orchestra do they play behind you?

Nope, there ya go.

Save the money you would have spent on the back speakers (only reason to have is if you care about passengers) and put them into a good amp and component set up front.
