bbeljefe
Maybe the title should be "Demo Truck Build Restarts"... I'm not sure. But in any event, for those who don't know, this truck was stolen and stripped mid build back in November and that kinda took the wind out of my sails for while. Not to mention, with the business being new I didn't have the money to start back over so... I drove around for almost 6 months with no music. That's the longest I've been without bass since I was 16 and I'm 45 now. :-| Anyway, this used to be a work truck and it shows. But, I like the truck and I've owned it since it was born so Imma keep on driving it until one of us dies. I just hope I outlive the truck. :-) A few non audio related things that have been done so far are a 3" drop on the rear and when I find some 20s for it, it will go another few inches closer to the dirt. Ultimately, it'll lay frame but that will come in time. For now it's at least level with the ground. I also had an airbrush guy do some work on it and even though I wasn't ready... he was and when the airbrush guy is ready to work you gotta let him work or wait. Either that or pay retail and I prefer to swap audio for the labor of others so... now I have to work around the artwork to get the truck finished. I also had the exhaust changed I told the muffler guy I wanted it quieter and I wanted the exhaust dumped under the truck instead of out the back. When he brought it back to the shop, I thought someone had driven a NASCAR up to get some subs put in.... so back to the muffler shop it goes. He said something about it would have been quieter if I had cats but I think he just fucked up, lol. Since I've started selling HIDs, LEDs and door projectors, I've also installed all that on the truck and it's nice. Except that one of the projectors spins like hell when the bass hits... As for audio, I put some CT gear back in a few weeks ago. The tweets are leftover from the last build because apparently, thieves don't bother with stealing tweets but, the doors have PA8s and I had Tropo v2 15s in the box. Those got changed to some Powerbass Xtremes thanks to a customer of mine because, while the Tropos were okay with one 1400.1 at .5Ω... I wanted to put another back in there. The mids are currently being driven by a Diamond D5 600.4 and the tweets, a CT Sounds M75.4. The Diamond will give way to a 125.4 and the Powerbass subs will soon be replaced by a pair of Mesos, at least until the Exos ship and then the POWAR will get real. I don't have many pics of the work so far but here are a few of the artwork being done and then, a video of the PB subz in action. I'll try to be more diligent with taking pics and vids henceforth... A few changes to the artwork happened before it was cleared.... Here are the Tropos on one 1400 at a half... And here's the spinning projector. One of my customers saw this video and asked, "Will mine spin like that when my bass hits? That's cool". So I guess I won't fix it... And last, here's a daytime video of the PB subs... hopefully the last before I get the Mesos in this week. :-) Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe

bbeljefe
Body filler... sand... body filler... sand, ad nauseum. Also, when doing door panels like this you need to make about two million small holes all around the pods and the areas where body filler will lay on the panels because NOTHING likes to adhere to the plastic they're made from. The holes give the resin and body filler something to hold on to. bbeljefe
Had to repair the console because the thieves broke the side off to get at the battery below it. Also had to make a cradle for the new 10" tablet because they got the old 7" one. That isn't standard body filler is it? I stapled the cloth to the panel, then reinforced the back of the panel with rods and chop mat and then, drilled holes all around the pod where the body filler and resin would lay on it so that it would hold... because nothing really sticks to that plastic. I also sprayed the panels with Bulldog adhesion promoter and yes, it's standard body filler. I use that for shaping and then go to the more expensive stuff when I need to fill pin holes. And, I needed it on these because they're painted.
