I recently acquired two JL audio 8" 8w1v2 8ohm speakers, wired together, both in a sealed box. I purchased a sound ordnance m-1500 mono subwoofer amplifier 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms to power the subs. My head unit seems outdated, and i'm not sure how the two subs are wired together, and how i should hook them up to my amp. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
mmets Posted April 20, 2014 Report Posted April 20, 2014 yes you can hook the amp and subs up. The radio however does not have a sub pre out so you will run full channel back to the amp. Just make sure you set the crossover on the amp. There pretty cheap subs like $120 a pop maybe less Excuse the thread jack but... JBL GTO804 FIfty watts more rms, about half the price and will take a LOT more power than rms. I've installed these subs in sealed, ported and 6th orders on budget builds and have yet to see one die. I also haven't powered one with less than double its rms.
