Krakin
Have you experimented with a U-frame or H-frame? http://www.quarter-wave.com/OBs/U_and_H_Frames.pdf I will be doing either an H-frame or a W-frame for the sub stage. I am just slowly trying to get supplies together. I first need to get myself an RTA to measure the extent of the +3dB and baffle distractions for bandpass filtering. After that I will add in a lower-mid-range speaker for roughly 100-600Hz. After that I'll most likely be getting room treatment stuff for the dorm I will be moving into next year. Then at the very bottom of the list is the sub-stage, even though it covers a over 2 octaves of notes maybe closer to 3 if you count the supper infra-sonic frequencies of movies. I've learned a lot about the subject from Mr. Linkwitz and his site. http://www.linkwitzlab.com/ Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Krakin
Oh. My. Word. does it just sound awesome after the auto EQ and my time aligning. The best part is that there is soo much more I can do in the future with it. Like having more than two speakers per channel. F##K the DD-1. I don't care if you or anyone buys one. (well i do, but that isn't my point) Get an O-scope in the very minimum and learn how to use it or you are just guessing your settings like every other noob. once you master the O-scope then step up to a DD-1 or even better a DD-1 Plus. Krakin
Just got back home and got in my new HDMI cables. Tomorrow I'll try to get the extra room cleared out to setup for a temporary theater setup. I let my parents use my TV as the living room TV and I don't want them to go without it for too long.
