coh33dkill3r Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Is there a formula to calculate the needed airspace for a tunnel???? Wanting to do 8 18s or 12 15s in a jeep Cherokee and don't know the first thing in designing a tunnel... What sealed space is needed and how much of an opening do I need for this to work properly
john253a Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 tunnel? please explane? post a pic or link to what you trying to describe side note, don't aim so high for a first install, either one of those boxes, is going to cost over 1k in material alone, let alone 10x cheaper 15's available is $1400 cheap subs are low power so allow 400-600rms each, thats 4-6k for 10 subs thats a $1.5-2k amp and another $1-1.5k in elect to support it so $5k and thats going entry level on everything not to mention the bus or truck you'll need to put it all in you'll be better off running less higher end on same or more power for the same $$$
coh33dkill3r Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 Not my first build but my first using multiple subs and a lot of space to work with
bbeljefe Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 Are you trying to build a 4th/6th order bandpass or are you just planning to build a tunnel shaped box? Facebook: facebook.com/audioanarchyllc Instagram: audioanarchyllc Youtube: youtube.com/bbeljefe
matt.b Posted April 24, 2014 Report Posted April 24, 2014 I always thought they were similar to 4th orders so maybe a 2:1 ratio ported:sealed
coh33dkill3r Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 Tunnel shaped box like mr. P jeep
