maademperor
Okay, so I've got a cda-9887 head unit and its got a fairly robust crossover built into it, so should I be aiming to make sure its as accurate as possible in tandem with my amp's settings? Or should I be making an effort to set them seperately? I was thinking it might best to set the amps crossover's to thier "highest" (as far to the right as the nobs will go) so that the they will play ANYTHING the head unit sends without trying to further process it or skin off more/less than what its already recieving from the head unit...does that make sense? This will make it easier to modify stuff on the fly too as there wont be any kind of overlap...am I right or just nuts? thanks
roscoe1129
Your on the right track. Im assuming your talking about for your mids/highs. Are you running componants? If so, I would just leave the switch on the amp to full for the mids and highs and go active with the alpine settings and let your speakers x-overs take over from there. You will be running an active (H.U.) / passive (Mids/highs x-over) set up. maademperor
cool, I figured there was a better way than what I was gonna do (alot of running back and forth )
PaulO2288
Ive always put my amps on high pass to keep bass out of my door speakers for vocals. The only time my door speakers havent had the high pass filter was when I have midbass speakers in.
Shyne151
Set the amps to full range and just use the crossovers on the cd player... that way you know EXACTLY what they are set to.
