my brother got his escalade bagged last year.. he has had a few issues with his differential. broke gears in one occasion ans always has a grinding noise even after installing new posi and gears.. today i went to check his truck and seen is pinion angle is all kinds of fucked up. the drive shaft is pinned between the differential and transmission and grinding his strap bolts.. there was no 4 link done to it even though i told him that was the way to go. the installer talked him into using a axle flip kit and removing a leaf.. it seems to me the flip kit was installed wrong and that's the reason the pinion angle is out of whack.. on the first picture you can see the angle is way up and the rest you can see the axle is not seated right. the installer said with airbags the axle will swing in that manner. i doubt it should move.. anyways is there a way this can be fix temporarily till he gets his 4 link installed? i was thinking of using a 3 degree pinion shim or maybe even a 6 degree shim

Shims exactly. Ive had many sets of shims on my lowered and lifted trucks. It's the only way if you still have leafs

thats what im shooting for but im also thinking it was installed wrong.. the drive shaft is jammed in there might have to get it sent to get cut and re-balanced

The length of the drive shaft shouldn't matter. The suspension still cycles how it did stock. Try the shims before ripping out the drive shaft

i will.. for that angle it seems that its off by about 3/4 to an inch.. maybe the 6 degree shim will do
