Mappy Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 On the "Worst install Ever" video you said you run the positive from the deck all the way to the back with your power wire so everything is all on the same connection.?(when you were twisting the wires with the drill) Not beind a smart a** but what other way can you do it? Im getting a pop when i turn on my car. I have factory head unit(Bose) with 1250.1 DB Drive amp and K9 12" sub.. I have a 4 gauge power from the battery to the amp with a nice fuse block. Ground is maybe 1.5 ft. long. Good connection. Factory Bose head unit. Line output converter tied in under the console to the factory wiring with left and right + and - connections. That connects to a base knob that goes to the amp. All high quality wires. DB Drive K7 1250.1 amp DB Drive K9 12" sub. Ported Atrium box. Systems hits hard sounds great. Just that annoying thump at start up.. Thoughts??

Ahmed Johnson Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 I don't know about that amp but I would check the gain and the ground. Where is your ground?
Mappy Posted April 29, 2014 Author Report Posted April 29, 2014 Im not very audio intelligent. Could you explain it a little more. Lead is the remote? Install guy tried a delay switch. It just delayed the thump.
Ahmed Johnson Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 Where do you have the ground located?
Mappy Posted April 29, 2014 Author Report Posted April 29, 2014 Ground is to the floor pan. Good connection. If you turn the gain down on the converter thump is not as loud. But speakers dont hit hard then..
mothra Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 what vehicle? what LOC? if nothing changes, nothing changes You don't know what you don't know, till you don't know
rockFord_Expedition Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 DB drive amp, never heard of this. Any good? Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Ahmed Johnson Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 I would only have the converter up half way. Any clipped signal or alt noises your HU picks up will only be amplified going to the amp causing alot of problems. I would rather mess with gains on amp than on the converter.
