HomeFunk Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Hello fellow Bassheads i need some help with figuring out tuning of my sub-box case is : subbox is 35cmx35cmx80cm outerdim (using 19mm mdf), the box was thrown together for 2 FI SSD 12"(with hqts option), but previous owner didnt like the sound of the sealed box, so he made 2 port holes in the front, and put in 6,9cm x 23cm ports(inner dim, without flares - at all) i have tried to figure it out, and got 2 diffrent tunings (22,6hz converted mesurements over in mm and using torres box calculator) and 27,6 using mesurements converted to inches. now, it bumps good on some songs, and other(that have a higher freq bassline or rock, it is sounding hollow and "wierd" of what it is on other songs. was thinking of move the tuning up from 20hz ish - to the 40 region, will this make it better at all? what i have to work with is a 6" aero, max length on tube is 38cm + flares that is 8cm each. is it just better to get a new box build, or could this be a temp solution until i have the mdf to put together a PeteyBox? any help appreciated Cheers Jørn From Norway my english isnt that good, so if i misstype a word, or dont bend it rigth, dont scream, just notify me then i learn
