Had my truck almost start on fire the other day the ac compressor bering i think totaly went and the ac comppresor started to smoke on my way home. luckily i pulled over and caught it in time. Opened the hood and my ac compressor was smoking. so i poured some stuff at gas station to wash your windows on it and let it cool down. was scared my car was going to blow up. well let it cool down for like 20 mins and drove home and then parked it till i could fix it. Rich Schenk Posted December 21, 2014 Author Report Share Posted December 21, 2014 next day i searched explorer forums for belt size for 2000 mountaineer V8 5.0 to bypass ac compressor bought that belt 71 in and yeah not even close. so ran and bought 2 more belts and they didn't work so ended up using a piece of house wire to find out size of belt i needed worked pretty good, got allot closer but not there yet. so after 5 runs to nappa auto and 10 belts later and nappa about to close I found one that worked. thank god for that! well here is that magical belt size so if anyone ever runs into this they have it!
