irnlve Posted May 5, 2014 Report Posted May 5, 2014 i have a pair of rockford fosgate p3 12" dual 4 ohm subs at 1 ohm receiving a 1500 watt rms load. i have a 98 chevy blazer 2dr my free space works 2 ways, either one is ok w me, whatever makes best spl. either a mini wall behind rear seats gives me 36" wide 30" tall and 15" deep or a lay down box gives me 36" wide 22" tall and 24" deep can someone help me please??? as long as i have a diagram and measurements i can build about any style box thank you
irnlve Posted May 5, 2014 Author Report Posted May 5, 2014 i dont even know what to do with those numbers, i know what they mean, but, i guess that's why i needed help with design and measurements
irnlve Posted May 7, 2014 Author Report Posted May 7, 2014 music most listened to is metal, but i love the bass and want to compete in spl again.. i hope you can help
Aj11 Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 a box tuned for spl (38-50hz) won't really keep up with the tight drum kicks of metal music. when i had my 2.5 ft box tuned to 42hz it got really loud (made your ears itch/hurt) but listening to anything besides dubstep kind of stuff was so crappy sounding i couldn't take it! it was almost like well you ever have a pair of ear buds wear out? when you move the wires and one ear bud would cut out then on then the other would. well that's almost exactly what having a high tuned box listening to metal music sounds like! i love the Band Tool (love them!) and when i had that box it sounded so bad i wouldn't listen to them. jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
irnlve Posted May 7, 2014 Author Report Posted May 7, 2014 rite on, well to do spl competition is my main goal.. everything else is secondary.. love me some 5fdp tho.. lol
Aj11 Posted May 7, 2014 Report Posted May 7, 2014 well if that's what you want, but you Can build a box with interchangable ports. not only will this help you chase numbers but you can build a port with a low tune when your not competing so you can actually enjoy your system! jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
irnlve Posted May 8, 2014 Author Report Posted May 8, 2014 ya i can build about anything, i just don't have the knowledge to design it to spec and figure out cut sizes
Aj11 Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 either Joe x or Ram designs can help you. i know Joe can help with a design and cut sheet. but not sure about ram. but ram makes boxes (really really good boxes) and also makes changeable ports. also bb makes great boxes. some of his work is the best I've ever seen! ever! jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
Joe X Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 irnlve I will try to help but what kind of SPL setup are you looking for with 2 600W daily 12 subs in that big vehicle, it may get a little loud with some work but a guy with 2 15s on the same power will likely smoke you in the meter if he's decently setup.
