scooter99
Well this has turned completely around since the first time I started it. It's no longer an audio build log, as well as performance build log. It's really just turned into a motor rebuild and that's it. Sorry folks. My wife and I bought an 06 F250 with the 6.0 Powerstroke (I know about the issues) and that is going to be my truck from now on. Actually it's turned into a sort of daily driver. The civic is gone now. That chapter is over. My wife and I carpool in her new car, so this is really my everything else truck. But, in the meantime, in order to do the things I want to do to it, audio, and performance, I have to sell the beast. But, I can't sell the beast until I get her up and running again. So that's what this thread has turned into. I'll leave the stuff below so you all can see what's been done to it so far, up until this motor overhaul. SO hopefully you all stay tuned, and follow this. It's the first time i've ever gotten this deep into a motor, and it's been an amazing learning experience. I've done a couple of other builds on this truck, audio and otherwise. Those links are below:RSK Suspension Lift1994 Ford F350 CC BuildOld UBL (I'll start another one for this) I think that's it. The UBL has the temporary build I did in it. So this is a 1994 Ford F350 Crew Cab Long Bed 4wd. It has a 7.5L 460 in it. Auto locking hubs (which I'd like to change to manual but they're pricey to do). It's the XLT version. She's got 117k on her as she sits right now. I've got a long list of things that I've changed in her already, take a look: Full brake system rebuild:Brake Master Cylinder,Front Calipers,Front Brake Pads,Brake lines (swapped over to SS lines when I did the RSK),RAB Sensor,Rear Brake Drum Cylinders,Rear Brake Pads,Flushed Brake Fluid,Speed Bleeders New 3G alternator - old one caught fire causing this, and as a result - New Radiator hoses, new wiring, new belt. I may be missing something. Let's just say, she's basically getting a complete overhaul. I'm a little sad to be selling it at the end of all this. Who knows, maybe she'll run so well, I'll sell the F250 instead. LOL, I doubt my wife will ever agree to that. She has a well known hatred for this truck. Look at the parts list and you can see why. But to me, it's something to be proud of. Thanks for hanging out, let's get this party started! thefourth
This should get interesting. Your works always on point. Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do thatI can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream. oh lawd. goodvibez
Haha jk bro just bustin your balls! I know they are comin....sounds bad ass tuned in FTMFW!! Let's get to it! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! scooter99
So all I have to show right now, until i get the Facebook Page up, is the video of the exhaust and headers. Maybe I'll do a walk around video soon and then we'll have an overall look of what I'm working with. scooter99
Ok guys I need some input. What should I call the Facebook Page for the truck. Like the civic was loud and low because it was lowered and it was loud. Pretty self explanatory. Should I continue with the theme on that and call it Loud and Tall F350 or something like that? Hit me up, what do you think? Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99
So I made a little goof with my enclosure. I was originally trying to do it in the truck box. I have two angles at the bottom of the box because of the way the bed angles. I tried to stay within those angles which is about 55" wide. But with the port, 7" wide plus 1 1/2" for port walls, then 48" minimum for subs, and then double walls on the outside, I just don't have enough room. I need a minimum of 62.5" to make it work like I'm thinking. I was thinking about doing a center port and then 2 subs on each side. But now I'm contemplating two other designs. You all know how I like to be different. But I think I'm going to nix the truck box all together and just build it since I'm going for a bed cover or shell anyway. I think I've decided on the shell. I'll just build it, then fiberglass the hell out of it inside and out and then hit it with some bed liner and I think it'll be fine, on top of the fact that it'll be inside of something. I am worried about taking too much out of the back wall however. So my other two design thoughts are these: First I was thinking about doing a big long port on the bottom of the enclosure laying horizontally, and then subs on top of it. But in order to get the 34 hz I'm looking for, it's got to be either really thin, or I'll have to shrink the width down. The other thought I have is splitting the port and going one on each end. So the port I had for this was 14.5" tall and 7" wide and 22" long (I think) for a 34hz tuning. If I did it this way I'd split it and do two 3.5" x 14.5" x 22" ports at each end with the subs in line in the middle. This is pretty much what I have now, and it works. I may do any of the three although I think the port on the bottom is going to be hindered by the batteries. I'm planning the batteries to be on the floor in front of the subs until I can build some frames and mount them under the truck. I guess I could go on top with it. Just throwing out ideas here. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions or anything out of the box they've always wanted to try? I'll take in mind any you wanna throw out there. goodvibez
Dunno if I have good enough knowledge on port and box to give good advice... ...as far as a name the "Bass Face Ford" or Idk "Blow Flow Ford" BFF for short haha jk dont use acronyms I'm sure you could come up with something better!
