Gotta get them cleaned up and degreased so they can get painted as well. Apparently I didn't get a pic of the passenger side, but it looks pretty similar.

Back to the block.

Passenger side deck pistons and cylidners. This side had much more build up. It was pretty bad. I already cleaned one here.

So that's it, more tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully parts will start going back on this week. I have Tuesday off, so I'll be working on it mostly all day then too. Today should be the last of painting parts and prepping. Let's hope. LOL

Got more pictures uploading now. Looks like this is going to get some momentum now. We are buying a travel trailer, maybe today, and now we don't have room on the side of the house until I get this thing up and running and move it. So mama wants it done like yesterday. I have a few more things to paint, but I can also start putting stuff back together in the meantime. We'll see if I can get some time today or not to do more. Pics coming soon.

Sucks to be in Cali... I would toss that air pump crap out LOL

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

Let's get some better air flow in this thing.

11125258_708782889230844_398116194899814

Remove the 4 bolts

10258022_708783009230832_344342356706197

With a screw driver or a pry tool, get in the seam and slowly pry all the way around little by little.

10623474_708783029230830_702523226329381

See all those fins and crap inside? Yeah those need to go.

11051823_708783042564162_547713971179893

Gone. Don't let the fact that a picture showing the next step of them gone tell you it was easy. This was a Pita. I probably worked on this for about an hour and a half. All of those fans need to come out, and they're some sort of carbon fiber material, and then there are some metal fins in the grooves, plus getting the center parts out. Just something to think about if you're thinking about doing this.

11052545_708783052564161_416013586666596

This is what's left of the insides. I didn't get a pic of the metal fins in the grooves. I honestly didn't realize they were in there until I put it together once and then it locked up on me because one fell out and I heard it rattling around.

11083713_708783089230824_213582042209495

Little assymbly lube

10661768_708783112564155_370809992938836

and she's all back together spinning smooth as butta!

Man, I would love to strip all that crap out of there for sure. But since I can't this is the next best route to go. Yeah for sure, egr delete, pump delete, Cat delete (oh wait already did that lol). I'd do it on my 6.0 P.S. too. This doesn't have to be smogged for another year at least. SO hopefully by then it won't be my problem. I still have the cat for whoever buys the truck so they can put it back in when it's time to smog. Was going to gut that too but decided not to worry about it.

Got the bay all stripped of tape. Love the way this came out.

Here's all the Smog stuff ready for priming.

11094748_708783229230810_491250256780677

That was the end of my day. Hopefully I can get more done today.

11095581_708783235897476_253747753275984

So I have a dentist appointment this morning, yay me. But I need more black paint, and primer, and then I'll have to see what the plan is for the afternoon and if we're going to buy that trailer or not. Otherwise I'll be on this thing all day. Hopefully I can get pics up tonight if I have any to show. Hopefully I can keep taking pics. I'd like to the full progression of taking it apart and then putting it back together again.

That is all.

Man this is dope. I'm the same way I'm not a mechanical expert but you can save a great amount of $$ by doing things on your own. It's something definitely worth learning/taking the risk to do if one can afford it.

Ok let's take a look at the progress from yesterday.

Started out today with painting the smog pump bracket.

11083940_709139139195219_164015086689495

Then got the smog pump and the pulley painted up. The little pipe on the bottom left there is for the water pump. I forgot it sitting in the parts cleaner tub.

10847755_709139129195220_422033380543888

Now, finally, we get to address these bad boys! Get them prepped for paint.

11102855_709139225861877_323761842598964

Then I had to get creative to cover the spark plug holes. So, for a couple of bucks, literally, that I would get back, I got the job done.
