scooter99
Gotta get them cleaned up and degreased so they can get painted as well. Apparently I didn't get a pic of the passenger side, but it looks pretty similar. EGR Tube off of the Driver side header. Back to the block. Passenger side deck pistons and cylidners. This side had much more build up. It was pretty bad. I already cleaned one here. But she's all cleaned up and sprayed down as well with WD-40. Clean and dry engine bay. All primed up. Ready for paint next time. Headers, home made paint haingers (bungee cords). lol Primed up and ready for paint. That's as far as I got last weekend. Hopefully I'll have more time this weekend. So that's it, more tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully parts will start going back on this week. I have Tuesday off, so I'll be working on it mostly all day then too. Today should be the last of painting parts and prepping. Let's hope. LOL Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99
Got more pictures uploading now. Looks like this is going to get some momentum now. We are buying a travel trailer, maybe today, and now we don't have room on the side of the house until I get this thing up and running and move it. So mama wants it done like yesterday. I have a few more things to paint, but I can also start putting stuff back together in the meantime. We'll see if I can get some time today or not to do more. Pics coming soon. scooter99
Ok here we go. Exhaust Paint for the headers. VHT Flame Proof Matte Black. They look way better painted black. I love it. Time for some more paint! Primed the pulley's and the power steering pump bracket. Taped off the internals a bit. Primed the end of the block. All the pulleys painted black added in the tensioner Power steering pump bracket painted. and this is the power steering fluid line that I removed from the front of the frame cross member. I apparently didn't get a picture of it, but I painted it black too. Engine block painted as well as the rest of the bay. So nice! scooter99
Now it's time to address the smog pump. Hoses have to come off. This is basically for my remembrance as to where they go. Now to get the pulley off. Then the pump itself needs removed from the bracket. Lets clean all the smog parts. Keith77
Sucks to be in Cali... I would toss that air pump crap out LOL Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born. My penis is bigger than your penis I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.
scooter99
Let's get some better air flow in this thing. Remove the 4 bolts With a screw driver or a pry tool, get in the seam and slowly pry all the way around little by little. See all those fins and crap inside? Yeah those need to go. Gone. Don't let the fact that a picture showing the next step of them gone tell you it was easy. This was a Pita. I probably worked on this for about an hour and a half. All of those fans need to come out, and they're some sort of carbon fiber material, and then there are some metal fins in the grooves, plus getting the center parts out. Just something to think about if you're thinking about doing this. This is what's left of the insides. I didn't get a pic of the metal fins in the grooves. I honestly didn't realize they were in there until I put it together once and then it locked up on me because one fell out and I heard it rattling around. Little assymbly lube and she's all back together spinning smooth as butta! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99
Sucks to be in Cali... I would toss that air pump crap out LOL Man, I would love to strip all that crap out of there for sure. But since I can't this is the next best route to go. Yeah for sure, egr delete, pump delete, Cat delete (oh wait already did that lol). I'd do it on my 6.0 P.S. too. This doesn't have to be smogged for another year at least. SO hopefully by then it won't be my problem. I still have the cat for whoever buys the truck so they can put it back in when it's time to smog. Was going to gut that too but decided not to worry about it. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99
Got the bay all stripped of tape. Love the way this came out. Steering Box too. Here's all the Smog stuff ready for priming. That was the end of my day. Hopefully I can get more done today. So I have a dentist appointment this morning, yay me. But I need more black paint, and primer, and then I'll have to see what the plan is for the afternoon and if we're going to buy that trailer or not. Otherwise I'll be on this thing all day. Hopefully I can get pics up tonight if I have any to show. Hopefully I can keep taking pics. I'd like to the full progression of taking it apart and then putting it back together again. That is all. cgrez33
Man this is dope. I'm the same way I'm not a mechanical expert but you can save a great amount of $$ by doing things on your own. It's something definitely worth learning/taking the risk to do if one can afford it. scooter99
Ok let's take a look at the progress from yesterday. Started out today with painting the smog pump bracket. Then got the smog pump and the pulley painted up. The little pipe on the bottom left there is for the water pump. I forgot it sitting in the parts cleaner tub. Now, finally, we get to address these bad boys! Get them prepped for paint. Then I had to get creative to cover the spark plug holes. So, for a couple of bucks, literally, that I would get back, I got the job done. Time to get some primer on. My french bulldog Murphy lounging in the back ground there. Enjoying the cool sidewalk.
