72impvert Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Wont be disappointed with the q I know it, they are great sound quality. May I ask y 1200 wrms?
Facekicker Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I run an Fi Q 12" in a 33hz box and love it. I do wish I could have gotten the high qts (sealed box) version but I got it second hand. Fi does NOT recommend running the Q in a sealed box unless purchased with the high QTS parameter. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power
Aj11 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Can i ash why you want sealed? is it a space thing? please don't say its for better sq because sealed boxes sound like crap... unless there freaking huge! everyone who competes and wins in the professional sound quality Comps have vented or ported boxes. don't want to sound like a jerk but its a Shame to put any of those subs In a sealed box. if its space id go with a vented 8 instead of a sealed 12. but i like to hear all my music call me crazy jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
Facekicker Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I could be wrong here, true SQ is new to me and I admit it. But my thoughts are that you could get more output with a flatter response using 12" sealed than you would with the 8" ported/tuned, generally speaking. I'm interested to know OPs answer though as well. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power
CleanSierra Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 I'd easily take a single Fi Q 12 over most any single 8" driver for advantages of cone area and bandwidth(in a proper sealed enclosure). The single Fi Q 12" sub will sound great in a sealed box, you won't be disappointed. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Also, OP, there there are the Soundqubed HDS300 series subs. The RMS rating on those is exactly at 1200W I believe. They are very new, but also very affordable and worth a shot. They would also work in a sealed enclosure. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
noobslayer77 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 try the RE XX. 1500 rms. great for sq and will do nice in a sealed application 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited 2 13w7s skar 3500 cnf mids (soon) xs batteries

Aj11 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 cone area isn't everything. putting a fi q in a 1.2 cubic foot box would sound good. but putting a sub like the Meso 8 in a 1.2 ft box... id take the 8. it will play lower and be Just as snappy. now if you put that fi q in a 2ft vented box yea fi q all day. Most sealed boxes dont play below 40hz and to me that sucks! even a ten in a 1.2 vented box wOuld (imo) be better then sealed. you Get a wider range of music. will the sealed 12 be louder... maybe but the smaller vented sub will sound better! you can't argue that. if anything get a 10inch fi q put it in a 1.5 vented box tune to 30hz and enjoy! from someone.who has had plenty of sealed and vented boxes with all sizes of subs vented sounds better! what kind of music do you listen to? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
omg_spoon Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Like everyone said. Get the q its not a shame to put a q in a sealed box. especially one with hi qts havoc is another option. 98 Mustang GTSinger 3202 12" Incriminator Death Penalties1 SAZ-2500dv22 D3100,1 D34002 Crescendo CZ-65SAX-100.2Door panels by Diablo Kustomz
