Skax Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Ok just got a few questions about setting gains with PAC lc1 I've been told to have it turned up half way and some say all the way during tuning the amps just would like to know also When tuning should sub level on headunit be at 0 or turned to max when tuning because if I'm not mistaken if tuned at 0 then adjusted after setting gain it defeats the purpose and clips right ? 2002 Mustang GT Procharged Procharger P1SC Supercharger, 8psi Procharger Intercooler, Headers, Borla Off Road X-Pipe Exhaust, Mass Airflow Upgraded Fuel Injectors SCT Flash Chip (Excaliber II), Throttle Body, Lowering Springs, Carbon Fiber Hood -Front 275/40ZR17 -Rear 315/35ZR17 5.0 Short Shifter 3.55 Gears
Cj Kumz Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Set the head unit 1st to the point where it distorts. So in your case set the sub level to max (though I like it 2 steps down). This is done to make sure you have the max unclipped signal from the head unit. Then play around with the gain starting all the way anti-clockwise going clockwise. Secret is just to avoid distortion and clipping. An oscilloscope would is the best way to set it though. RooTxBeeR Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Yes, have sub level maxed and have your knob all the way up when you tune your amps gain. Skax Posted May 19, 2014 Author Report Posted May 19, 2014 Ok another thing is I used -7.5db before I started listening to decaf and I was told to tune with -5db got decaf and and it seems alotttt less loud I mainly listened to rap/dubstep on -7.5db would I be fine using -7.5 with decaf tracks ? 2002 Mustang GT Procharged Procharger P1SC Supercharger, 8psi Procharger Intercooler, Headers, Borla Off Road X-Pipe Exhaust, Mass Airflow Upgraded Fuel Injectors SCT Flash Chip (Excaliber II), Throttle Body, Lowering Springs, Carbon Fiber Hood -Front 275/40ZR17 -Rear 315/35ZR17 5.0 Short Shifter 3.55 Gears

Skax Posted May 19, 2014 Author Report Posted May 19, 2014 Also could the volume offset have played a difference in this ? I had it at -8 and turned it to -2 since it still stays unclipped at -2 but the ct 125.4 was to much for my current door speakers lol 2002 Mustang GT Procharged Procharger P1SC Supercharger, 8psi Procharger Intercooler, Headers, Borla Off Road X-Pipe Exhaust, Mass Airflow Upgraded Fuel Injectors SCT Flash Chip (Excaliber II), Throttle Body, Lowering Springs, Carbon Fiber Hood -Front 275/40ZR17 -Rear 315/35ZR17 5.0 Short Shifter 3.55 Gears
Guest Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 keep lc1 all the way up while tuning gains. no idea why you would want to have less than max rca voltage going to the amp when tuning it to get the most power with the least amount of gain.
