hispls Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 TC 4hp is the motor on MANY very nice woofers. (Think 5400LMS, Eclipse Ti Pro, TSNS). You could do just about anything with it, and IMO if you plan to run over 1500W to the sub you won't get a better platform to build from. Plenty of companies make 4" coil parts now and some of the OEM TC stuff still exists if you hunt around. You could easily get someone to pay 220$ or so (shipping included) for the motor, 20$ for the frame, and probably 3-5$ for the dustcap if you can remove it cleanly. That doesn't get you to far into anything good to run.... I personally DO NOT run 4" coils becauze of the cost of parts, but 4hp would be top of the list of motors I'd use if I were going 4"
