IceBroBass Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Ok fellas so i got two options on what to wire my subs with. I need your opinion on which would be better for two 18" fi BLs on two 1500wrms amps. So i've got a boss 8ga kit (which really isn't 8ga more like 10), but i could double them up. Or i have 4ga KnuKonceptz that is a little too big. What would you do?
biscuitownz Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 I'd do the 4ga, it's probably OFC too instead of CCA.
gckless Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Could do the 4ga and trim it down. You'll be fine using the 10ga with that power though. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. IceBroBass Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Posted June 5, 2014 I'll probably trim the 4ga. The knu wire is OFC idk about the boss wire.
youngbass98 Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Are you taking about wiring for your speaker or your amps 06 monte carlo 2 12 rockford p3s soundstream rubicon 2500 crescendo audio mezzo 6.5 ct sounds 125.4 execution audio and shca wiring 2 xs d3400 on stock alt
IceBroBass Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Posted June 5, 2014 Wiring from the VCs to the terminals on the box then out to the amp.
youngbass98 Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Ok I gotcha, had to ask you never know what people will ask around here lol, I would use the 4 gauge if possible. 06 monte carlo 2 12 rockford p3s soundstream rubicon 2500 crescendo audio mezzo 6.5 ct sounds 125.4 execution audio and shca wiring 2 xs d3400 on stock alt
biscuitownz Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Oh, I thought you meant the wiring for the amp. If it's to the sub then 10ga would be fine too.
gr8handogoatness Posted June 5, 2014 Report Posted June 5, 2014 Man I'm glad that got clarified, I was worried. 10 gauge is sufficient, but 4 gauge looks a lot more awesome.
IceBroBass Posted June 5, 2014 Author Report Posted June 5, 2014 Yeah thanks for the input guys! Build log coming soon(this weekend). Should've done it a long time ago since alot is installed now. But will still post Box build and soon after custom center console for mids/highs
