Weigel21
Cool, but what about your highs, I didn't see any mention of such. And I'm sure you'll be amping the Mids as well, if not already. Wish I had a vehicle worth putting a system in, or should I say , that I feel is worth putting a system into. I've already got plenty of equipment, nothing that'd touch what many of the members on here rock, but I could toss together a nice little system that runs at 1100RMS. Right now I'm just getting by with about the least, aftermarket HU, rar speakers, 12" sub and amp. The fronts are OEM and I think the passenger side is either on it's way out or it's resonating at just the right frequency sometimes to sound distorted. I just don't want to mess with it, the car's a piece.

DeeBoy718
Again, amps are a bit embarrassing, but, I have a Lanzar Opti 500 x 2 for my doors, and an Audiopipe APDL 2104 pushing the crescendos. I have a small four channel Lanzar running my highs, a single tweet on each door and one on each pod, all Lanzar Opti. They sounded a bit harsh when I first installed them, but I put a Dayton 4.7 uf capacitor on them, and the harshness is gone, and they sound rather good, at least to me and everyone that sits in my truck. I do plan on going all Sundown on the amps, not only because of the quality of the amps, but for aesthetics once I build a "take a look at this" worthy amp rack. DeeBoy718
Please explain, Kylar. I did read up on it, and the truck is supposed to idle at around 650rpm, which I did find kind of low. She starts up just fine, no hesitation. Kyblack76
Voltage drop at a light, is low turn on. It may be belt slip. Or a mis cal of the alt maker from your engine crank size. DeeBoy718
Belt slip, huh? I definitely had some slip when I first had the alt installed. My mechanic gave me the option of either getting a slightly smaller belt, or replacing the smaller pulley on the mechman with the pulley from my stock alt. We changed the pulley, and the slip (and squeak) was gone. I understand that mechman uses a smaller pulley in order for the alt to charge faster. Could this possibly be contributing to my issue? Weigel21
Got a little excited with the post button I see. LOL I've heard reasonably decent things about the Optidrive line of amplifiers, you could have done worse. What sort of crossover did the tweets come with initially? Believe it or not, I heard a setup comprised of nothing but Pyle gear and if I'd have never known that's what it was, I'd have never guess it was such a "cheap" system. It's all about how it's setup. I don't care if you have a set of Audison Thesis speakers, if you don't know what you're doing, they can sound like shit. While relatively cheap gear can perform fairly respectably if setup/tuned properly. Edit Damn, why can't I seem to proof read my posts BEFORE posting, my abundance of grammatical errors sure show... how smarts I are.
