All these other "birch plys" people use are only a birch veneer on the top and bottom with all the inner plys cheap/weaker plywood, usually douglas fir.

Thats a bit much. Lol. I have like 3 sheets of the damaged mdf I can use and maybe the 1/4" mdf core maple to put over it? Or I can do the red oak mdf core. Its like $46 a sheet right now. The thin maple is $27 a sheet.

I figured I might as well make this nice since its the final build. And carpet gets boring to me and you always gotta clean it. Id find the veneer strips for the edge most likely.

So final verdict? Just carpet or try the mdf core red oak or build of mdf and then put the 1/4" layer of mdf core maple over it? Like a veneer.

seems like a waste of money to pay 13$ a sheet more or whatever its priced at for a sheet of mdf core oak thats not going to do anything more than just regular mdf or go and put another layer over it.

at that point your getting up there in price almost as much as the russian birch.

You can always paint your box, rhinoline, plastidip your box etc. Dont got to do just carpet.

Idrk what I wanna do anymore. Just thought thatd be a nice way to stain it inside and out since I was wanting to put a little plexi window in it and light it.

Ig ill just have to really figure it out when the time comes.
