lil_rob_913 Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 as of right now i have a stock alternator and battery. i also have 8k hid going also. as of right now my audio system consists of jvc kwav61bt headunit, stock speakers and 4 gauge wiring that hooks up to a 750.1 kicker amp that is pushing 2 12 inch cvx's. the thing is i am upgrading my car speakers to kickers so what i was plan on doing is adding a second amp which is a 600x4 channel sony amp to power them. so my plan was running 4 gauge wiring to a distribution block and from there have it split into 2 8 gauge wires for my 750.1 kicker mono block amp and the other to my 600x4 channel sony amp. will i be fine with this set up. or IS IT A MUST TO UPGRADE ANYTHING SUCH AS ALTERNATOR OR GO 0 GAUGE WIRE?! HELP PLEASE!!
youngbass98 Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 it would work but there are better ways to do i, like getting a battery for the back and using that as a distro block. or you can run 1/0 gauge so you can get a distro with two 4 gauge outs so your amps will have better current 06 monte carlo 2 12 rockford p3s soundstream rubicon 2500 crescendo audio mezzo 6.5 ct sounds 125.4 execution audio and shca wiring 2 xs d3400 on stock alt

bassman619 Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 If its a sony I bet itll only do 75 rms per channel so 1000w rms total. I doubt you need a new alternator.. I would do the big 3 upgrade juat because itll perform better.. as far as wires my opinion is that you should use the biggest wire for power that will fit the amp. But at 750w I doubt you need to waste money on anything larger than 4 gauge. If you have a regular wet cell battery itll eventually die on you probably sooner than later. When it does just get a good agm battery. Optima could work but I would suggest spend a few extra dollars and get an xs power or kinetik or even a stinger. Maybe if you go bigger on the wattage youll start to need to upgrade the alternator and wire ect. And one day im sure you will You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries

If I was to do this way I won't have to add the don't amp
LT.Smoke Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 I have a full system in 08 Impala Ls with stock alternator and it does fine. TDZ13 Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Dry cell in back, look into Deka batts if you wanna save a few bucks vs XS/Kinetik.. Big 3 upgrade in 1/0ga and minimum of a quality 4ga to the sub amp. I say quality power wiring(1/0 for big 3, minimum 4ga for amps) because a lot of the "cheap" power wire out there is very heavily jacketed and contains very little actual wiring underneath. Sky High has sum awesome wiring for the price as does Knukonceptz when you're looking around. 2006 Hyundai Sonata Lx - Alpine CDA-9885 - Rainbow CSX Comps - (2) 12" Sundown Zv4 - Sundown 5K - 4.6ft3 @ 33hz w/ 6" aeros sealed off in trunk - 250a Singer alt, Kinetik 1400, (2) 2400s - 150.4 @ Dash as of now
