tofteben Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 I have a 2012 cruze with a 15 orion hcca, currently runing a hifonics 2400, its at 2ohms so around 1600ish im gona guess like 1400, but I eventually wana run it up to 5k or so and would like to know what xs bat I should use for the trunk and under the hood since I havent found a ho alt avalible for my car, it comes stock with a 130amp I beleve the car dosent do to bad with what im running now with a stock batt. Any imput would be verry much appreciated:)
bassman619 Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 For 5k watts I'd say two xp3000s should do it for the trunk but I'd do two d3100s just to go overkill. And for under the hood what ever battery matches the group size of the stock one. If you can't find an h/o alt I have heard that there are places/companies that can't rebuild your stock alt to put out more amps. But I would never even think of running 5k without an h/o alternator You need trunk space to get groceries and shit...bitches love groceries

TDZ13 Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 What amp(s) are u gonna be running when you wanna make the switch to 5k daily? Some are gonna more/less efficient than others. Unless you're gonna be strictly using this are a burp vehicle I wouldn't venture into that power range without an HO alt. From you're current power range to 5k daily is a very large jump in amperage you will be pulling and there's no sense in running that much if you're gonna be flirting with ruining a lot of cash worth of amps in short order. Just make the rounds calling the companies that g2shuck listed a few posts up. At the bare minimum with the HO alt, i'd run the biggest dry well under hood u can fit with a large one in the trunk area on top of having the proper wiring/fusing needed. 2006 Hyundai Sonata Lx - Alpine CDA-9885 - Rainbow CSX Comps - (2) 12" Sundown Zv4 - Sundown 5K - 4.6ft3 @ 33hz w/ 6" aeros sealed off in trunk - 250a Singer alt, Kinetik 1400, (2) 2400s - 150.4 @ Dash as of now

You are guessing how many watts youre getting out of that amp @2ohm and I bet its ways off Those amps have been proven to produce DIRTY power, especially at high volume Look into a real 2000 watt amplifier that is stable @.5ohm Here are a couple that are not overpriced: crescendo bc2000 http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/crescendo-audio-bc2000d-2250-watts-x-1-mono-block-bass-clef-series-amplifier.html Soundqubed 2200 http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/sound-qubed-q1-2200d-amplifier.html
