What is the best amp for 2 JL W3v3-4s?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking between these 3 amps... if you have a better option please suggest.. **according to the JL site- "The 10W3v3-4 is best used with amplifier power in the 150W - 500W range."

1. existing amp - Alpine MRP-M500 (250 per sub@ 2ohms)

2. new amp - JL audio JX 1000/1D (500 per sub@ 2ohms)

3. new amp - JL audio XD 600/1v2 (300 per sub@ 2ohms)

you can only get to a 2ohm load with those subs.. Look for a amp that gets you to that power at 2ohm

Thats cool. Im way too old to be upset by shit like that. Your name is winston. Your own parents hated you even before you were born.

My penis is bigger than your penis

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

I had a pair of those woofers a few years ago. I wouldn't run 500 each to them.

Thanks alaskanzx5 I might just do that
I can recone a sub myself. About a year ago I took 2 12" power acoustic mofos and made one sub. I took the magnet and the motor off of one and j b welded it to the other motor and magnet. I had to wind my own voice coil so it would work. After I was done hooked up to 2 boss 5000w amps. And shattered my back and all my side windows

came to this thread to recommend soundqubed and ct sounds. OP goes with soundstream.

oh lawd.

Option 2 is actually the only one on par with the subs, just engage your subsonic filter and don't build an excessively large enclosure for them. Gains and proper electrical should taken care off as well.
