focused313 Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 Here it is...My son's Mercedes SLR 722S R/C Battery Operated Car This car already comes with a small speaker for start-up sounds and audio. It has an audio jack where you can plug in any 3.5mm audio source. Everything works, but it's quite simply not loud or clear enough. My goal is to create a small, 30-50w sound stage. I am NOT looking to win any sound shows, do any custom fiberglass work, etc...A subwoofer would be nice, but is not necessary. I'd like to stay under $100 for everything. As for space... I have very limited space. Some panels seem like they are usable, but once you see what's behind there, I've only come up with two locations: the panel where the accelerator is and the trunk area (non-viewable). It appears I'll need the following things: 1 - Another 12V SLA battery for electronics2 - (2) speakers, possibly 3.5's 3 - Mini amp that is capable of at least 25w x 2 @ 4ohms (RMS) Learning Everyday. focused313 Posted July 4, 2014 Author Report Posted July 4, 2014 Instead of a "mini amp" you could just put a HU in I'm trying to that. There isn't much room to make it happen easily. Learning Everyday. Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD Alpine SPS-610C BXI-2008D (2) SWR-1242D / Ported
Aj11 Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 yea id say put a deck in it and a good set of 6.5s.. or smaller. they will give you good mid bass. a amp will prolly suck all the power out of the battery... pretty quickly. you can get stick on solar panels pretty cheap to keep a charge on it. had a buddy do something similar to his sons wagon. deck mids and highs with a very small agm battery in it. it has a canopy on top. he put to small solar panels on it. i remember going to six flags with him and it lasted the entire time we were there. 6+ hours. it was as loud as any stock car system when cranked up. but 3 year old kids don't really go full tilt! my son (17 months) has the same wagon now.. I've been dying to do something like that jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
csshakka Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 The internal amps of head units are typically not very efficient. If you're going for longevity without solar panels, I would look at small class t amps.
Aj11 Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 no there not efficient but i highly doubt his son Is gonna be blaring the radio. id say mount the deck facing up right next to those 2 white stickers opposite of the shifter (as shown in second pic) and.for speakers 3.5s should do the trick and if you can mount them under the seat that be my first choice. as for solar panels... there's no real way of running them without taking the coolness of the car away. but they are cheap, flexible and come off. two decent ones would not only keep the deck going but keep the car going longer in between charges as well jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
