Swampy Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 For those that dont know, I run (2) DC Audio m1 level 5 18s that are 2 ohm DVCs and I have them running at .5 ohms on a single AQ 2200. I just recently recieved a second AQ 2200 from UPS and it came out of the box looking like someone hit it with a hammer. One of the mounting feet was bent upward touching the body of the amp and both RCA inputs were totally broken. The left input was hanging on by a thread, and the right input is totally MIA. My question is this...my overall goal was to strap the amps together in the first place, but the AQ only has one set of inputs and no outputs whatsoever, then it has what looks like one single RCA jack on the other side of the amp with a switch that reads "slave." Im curious if its possible to use the damaged amp as a slave amp so that I can work my way around the damaged RCA jacks. If this is possible, what im looking for is an explaination to how id go about getting signal from the master amp to the slave amp. The package was insured for more than I paid for it, so once the claim goes through I should have the amp and the money. Worst case scenario, ill have to find another one or pay to have this one repaired...but I have seen where people who strap their amps dont have RCAs running to the slave amp at all. If anyone has any insight on this at all, id appreciate your advice. I don't claim to know how to solve anything, I just practice the basics. There is nothing worse than wasting hours over a problem that should have taken 5 mins. Anything I post and claim to know, I know simply because of a lesson learned from a mistake on my part.

I said in the post that the RCAs on the second amp are totally screwed up, so thats the answer to your first question. and as to your second question, its a two parter. the m1 series is set for 2k rms, and the other part is budget concerns. I don't claim to know how to solve anything, I just practice the basics. There is nothing worse than wasting hours over a problem that should have taken 5 mins. That is how the slave gets input. this is really helpful man, thanks a lot. so if i understand right, the master amp gets the inputs from the HU, and then from the slave input on the master, it goes to the working rca input on the slave amp. is that right? I don't claim to know how to solve anything, I just practice the basics. There is nothing worse than wasting hours over a problem that should have taken 5 mins.
