4bannger Posted July 19, 2014 Report Posted July 19, 2014 well ive reworked the idea and design for this wall about 6 or 7 times so far and finally came to something i like after some help from raptorman. now the only question is is the box going to be strong enough. i know these are just budget woofers but i wanna eliminate any possible panel flex in the box. heresmy ideas on the bracing of the box let me know if you guys have any different ideas. these are the specs on the box form torrres this is a back view of the box. disregard the weird shape. this box is going in my daily driver and i dont want to build the box in the vehicle and want to keep as much cargo room as possible. i made it that shape so i could slide it in once i have it all built. I have some angle iron laying around in the garage so i plan on using that in all the 90 degree corners and attaching it with 1" lag bots and resining over them. I also added in wooden dowel supports. this is a budget build so i really wanna stay away from buying the threaded rod unless i have to. and i alternated all the seames figured that would prevent weak joints and air leaks. then the front shot of the box.all the walls are 1 1/2 inch thick. might end of doing a 2 1/4 inch thick baffel
Joe X Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 If you later upgrade subs (and likely you will) , that port area is going to be low.
Agreene Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 If you later upgrade subs (and likely you will) , that port area is going to be low. agreed, i think you can get away with that port area with the e 15s, but for the future id suggest going 13-15port area per foot. is it possible to make changeable port?
