tju76
A -10dB track shouldn't clip as soon as a 0dB track so yeah, it does make a difference. I'll do my best to check the Alpine head unit I have in stock today. Yeah I won't know till I check it out but if it is clipping at that low of a volume with the sub level at 15 like you said something must be wrong
tju76
This is what i would do. with the dd-1 hooked only to the headunit: play a 1khz 0db tone and check your front rca outputs. find the max unclipped volume. play the 40hz 0db tone and check your sub out at the same volume. adjust the sub out until you show clipping, then back it off till the light goes out. then hook the amps up, and set the gains on the amps with the appropriate tones with the volume at your maxed unclipped level. You can use the -5db 1k tone for your mids, but 0db will be safer you can use the -5db 40hz tone for your subs pretty safely if you are not overpowering your sub. Do I just plug the dd1 probes into the rca outs on the back of radio
Jessica
plug the rca's from your headunit into the dd-1 Quote Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. tju76
Okay -10db track it is clipping at 21 out of 35 with sub level at 15 if I have sub level at 0 it clips at 34 what is wrong with it
OrionStang
What was the clip point using the 0db track? You really want to set the HU with the 0db tracks. 2 Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
tju76
I am also still getting the blips for the distortion when turning up the gain never stays solid if I turn gain all the way up the 40hz signal goes off
OrionStang
Forget the amp for now. You need to get the headunit squared away first. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
